Our Story
We met as students at the University of Virginia, first as familiar faces in overlapping circles of friends. We eventually found ourselves studying in the same corner of the law library, a favorite spot where our friends gathered for long evenings filled with laughter, conversation, and crunchy snacks. What began as study sessions soon turned into something more. As we spent hours debating ideas and sharing stories, we realizing we could focus better (and laugh harder) together than apart.
Over the years, our study sessions turned into shared adventures, from late nights on Grounds to living together during our virtual pandemic internships, navigating long distance between New York and Los Angeles, and building a life filled with intention and joy. In April 2025, John proposed in Chicago after a weekend that reflected the journey we’ve taken together. Now we can’t wait to celebrate this next chapter surrounded by the people who have been part of our story from the start.

Things to Know
Plus Ones and Children
The only person invited to this wedding is the person(s) addressed on the envelope. Our venue has a maximum of 50 people so there is no opportunity to squeeze another person in. Unfortunately, this means many guests may not have a date to this wedding. But we are all family so you won’t be alone! If an uninvited individual arrives, they will be in the middle of the mountains with nowhere else to go but the vineyard at the top of the hill.
Dress Code
All black. It’s a simple, elegant choice that photographs beautifully and looks great on everyone.
Weather Considerations
Afton in June usually brings warm summer days, mild evenings, and gentle mountain breezes. Humidity is generally low, so the weather will feel comfortable outdoors.
Parking/Transportation
There is a parking lot on site for those driving.
Arrival Time
Please try to be on time as any late arrivals would be disruptive.
RSVP Deadline
Please respond by March 15th.
Location Considerations
This will be an outdoor event. The ceremony and cocktail hour will be on grass. Keep that in mind when deciding on shoes. Check out the venue at the link below for more info.
The Bar
The bar will be open, no need to bring cash.
The Details
Things to Do in Charlottesville
Coffee and a bite: No trip to Charlottesville is complete without a stop at Bodo's Bagels on the Corner, right on University Avenue. New York-style water bagels, cheap and fast, a Cville institution since 1988.
Our favorite coffee shop in town is Milli Coffee Roasters on Preston Avenue. In-house roasted beans, great waffles, easy to settle in for an hour. If you have a little more time and want a beautiful drive, head 15 minutes west to Crozet for Mudhouse Coffee Roasters. It's our favorite coffee shop outside the city, set in a charming brick building right on the square.
A walk through UVA: The Lawn at UVA is Thomas Jefferson's Academical Village, a U.S. National Historic Landmark and part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Walk toward the Rotunda, peek into the pavilion gardens, and soak up the history.
While you're on Grounds, stop by the Arthur J. Morris Law Library at UVA Law. It's where our story started, so it holds a special place for us.
Arriving early on wedding day?
If you find yourself with a little extra time before the ceremony, you are more than welcome to head up to the top of the hill at Veritas Vineyard for a glass of wine before things kick off. The view is one of our favorites in all of Virginia.
