THINGS TO DO
Horseback Riding at Rancho Baile De La Luna
Ride a horse through the picturesque countryside of San Miguel de Allende in Central Mexico. See mesquite trees, different types of cacti, a seasonal river, hills, plateaus, and corn fields. Options to ride through several rural villages like Los Ricos, Banda, Los Torres, and Cruz Del Palmar. Stop at a tienda for drinks and snacks, depending on the length of ride you choose. Pass by cattle, sheep, goats, and donkeys grazing with their shepherd. Hand out lollipops to the kids you pass and give food or treats to the street dogs that you pass in the village or the dogs with their shepherd out in the countryside.
Be accompanied by a Caballerango (Wrangler) who speaks Spanish and English. When you return to the ranch, enjoy a nice cold beer, water, or mineral water.
Charco del Ingenio
In the heart of the central highlands of Mexico, El Charco del Ingenio Botanical Garden includes over 170 acres of nature preserve in the historical town of San Miguel de Allende. At par 70, the course has a challenging degree of difficulty, thanks to its exceptionally complicated elevation changes.

TRANSPORTATION
San Miguel is best explored on foot and is made up of majority cobblestone streets, so keep that in mind when packing!
Please note that drivers only accept pesos, so be sure to have some on hand, as credit cards are not accepted. The best way to get in to San Miguel is by a private car service. Uber is another convenient option for getting around. We do not recommend rental cars, as the parking is NOT ideal.
RECOMMENDATION: As soon as you book your flight, make a reservation through the link below with your flight information. The company will schedule a pick up and drop off from the airport to your hotel or rental. There are both private options or a shared shuttle service.
A shared shuttle from the airport (QRO or BJX) to SMA is $30 per person each way, and $100 per person coming from MEX. I recommend bringing cash or verifying your driver takes card/USD.

What is the way to prepare for Mexico?
1) Make sure your passport is updated and is not set to expire within 8 months of travel (don't forget to pack it)
2) Book your flights, accommodations, and shuttle arrangements all at once!
3) Let your banks know you are going to be traveling internationally
4) Reach out to your phone provider and inquire about your International Data Plan options
5) Download WhatsApp (this is the best way to communicate with Shuttles, Air BnB hosts, Concierges, etc.)
6) Pack your flats & sandals - there is LOTS of hills & cobblestones.
7) Don't rely on your credit cards, cash is king in Mexico, but wait to pull cash out until you are in town to avoid additional fees.
8) Try to rely on planned transportations and refrain from calling Taxi's off the streets. PRO TIP: ask your Air BnB host for a recommended driver's contact or ask your concierge to call you a shuttle
9) It does get chilly at night, so pack a couple light layers! Think mountain weather!
10) San Miguel is a very cultural town, many people do not speak English so study up on some basics or download a translator app!
11) Most accommodations have a pool so bring sunscreen. The rumors are very true, the sun is much stronger in Mexico, especially in high elevation. Keep in mind, resorts charge astronomical prices for sunscreen so it's best to bring some from home!
12) It is NOT recommended to drink the tap water (it is not potable) in Mexico so be extra cautious when going about your day to day - opt for no ice from your fridge unless it's been filtered, ask for bottled water upon checking in to your accommodation's, and stock up on water's at the local market. If you are sensitive to dairy, it is recommended to steer away from dairy products.
What is the "Happily Ever Afters"?
For those still standing, the party & fun AFTER the wedding does go on! We will finish the night off at El Duke!
You will need a wristband so be sure to RSVP by emailing the bride below...
What will the weather be like?
San Miguel's evenings can be brisk, similar to what you might experience in Colorado. Situated in the mountains rather than by the coast, the city enjoys warm daytime temperatures in the mid-70s but cools down to the low 50s at night. October is coined as "the best time to visit San Miguel". We recommend packing a few light layers!
Can I use my phone in Mexico?
Most phone plans have an option for full data usage in Mexico for $10 a day & we love using this! You can also use WhatsApp which is a free platform; however, it does require data.
Hotels, Rentals & Restaurants offer free wifi as well.
I took a bunch of pictures at the wedding, what can I do with them?
We will have a photographer and videographer at both events, but for all additional photos, you can upload them below!
