We are so excited to be getting married in Santa Margherita, Italy on June 9th, 2026!
From the very beginning, travel has been one of our favorite things to do together. Almost eight years ago, just seven months into our relationship, we traveled to Tuscany for the wedding of Olivia’s cousins, Ari and Kate. That trip is a memory we’ll never forget - it’s where JD told Olivia he would bring her back someday to be his wife, and where we first talked about building a life together.
Inspired by that unforgettable experience, we couldn’t imagine a more meaningful place to celebrate our own marriage. Choosing Italy allows us to keep the celebration intimate with our closest friends and family, while also giving our loved ones the perfect excuse to explore one of the most beautiful places in the world.
Italy isn’t just the backdrop for our wedding - it’s the heart of our love story, and we can’t wait to share it with all of you.

Milano-Malpensa Airport (MXP) is the closest international airport, approximately two hours away from Santa Margherita Ligure. MXP has non-stop flights from major American hubs including New York (JFK), Chicago (ORD), Miami (MIA), Los Angeles (LAX), Philadelphia (PHL), Dallas (DFW), and San Francisco (SFO).
TRENITALIA
Italy’s national train service, offering fast and comfortable travel across the country. The high-speed train runs directly from Milan to Santa Margherita Ligure in just about two hours.
Trains from Milan to "S. Margherita Ligure-Portofino" primarily depart from "Milano Centrale".
PRIVATE TRANSPORTATION
If you prefer door-to-door service, a private car from Milan to Santa Margherita Ligure takes about two hours and 30 minutes.

Explore by Train
Portofino (Bus/Boat): While not accessed by train directly, Portofino is easily reached from Santa Margherita by a short bus ride or a scenic boat trip from the harbor.
Cinque Terre (Approx. 45–60 mins):Take the train directly to Monterosso, the first of the five famous villages. From there, you can use the local train to visit Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola, or Riomaggiore, or hike between them.
Camogli (Approx. 10 mins): A beautiful, traditional fishing village with tall, painted houses, just a few stops away towards Genoa. It offers a less touristy, authentic atmosphere compared to nearby villages.
Rapallo (Approx. 5 mins): Just one stop away, this town offers a lively promenade, a castle in the sea, and a cable car that goes up to the Montallegro Sanctuary.
Genoa (Approx. 30–40 mins): Take the train north to explore the capital of Liguria, famous for its UNESCO-listed historic center (caruggi), the aquarium, and authentic pesto.
Sestri Levante (Approx. 20–30 mins): A charming town with two bays—the "Bay of Silence" and the "Bay of Fairy Tales"—ideal for a relaxing beach day.
