Our Story

Nick and Jessica first met in New York City while working at their first full-time jobs after college at Macy’s. Jessica had recently joined the Food Prep team as an Assistant Buyer, which happened to be the same team Nick worked on as a Merchandise Planner. With only one desk separating them, Jessica quickly realized it was very easy to lean over and ask Nick plenty of planning questions.

After working together for a little over a year, their friendship began to grow outside the office. They spent many evenings at their favorite Upper East Side bar, The Stumble Inn, just a short walk from both of their apartments. Between weekly visits, lots of laughs, and several competitive skeeball games at another nearby bar (which Nick still claims he won), their friendship eventually led to their first official date at a cozy Italian restaurant on the Upper East Side, Caffe Buon Gusto.

Soon after, COVID arrived and they both returned to their Midwest homes, Nick to Wisconsin and Jessica to Illinois, but they stayed closely connected. Nick later moved to Minneapolis for a new job while Jessica returned to New York City. When Jessica eventually accepted a job in Milwaukee, bringing her a little closer to Nick, he officially asked her to be his girlfriend over FaceTime and sent flowers to celebrate.

They spent the next year and a half dating long distance, making many five-hour drives between Milwaukee and Minneapolis to see each other whenever they could. Eventually Jessica moved to Minneapolis for a new job, and not long after, they moved in together.

In May 2025, after dating for a little over three years, Nick and Jessica took a trip to Europe, starting with Paris. On a beautiful sunny spring day, they visited the stunning Jardin du Luxembourg. While Jessica admired the gardens, Nick seemed unusually determined and was walking very quickly, something Jessica found a bit strange.

They eventually stopped near a beautiful fountain surrounded by bright flowers. Nick asked Jessica to take off her sunglasses and hand him her phone. As she began to realize what was happening, Nick took out the ring and got down on one knee and Jessica immediately said yes.

Nick then revealed that a photographer had secretly captured the entire moment. They spent the next hour celebrating with photos throughout the beautiful gardens of Paris. It was truly a dream come true and the perfect beginning to their next chapter together.

Getting to Lake Iseo

Car Rental (Recommended)

Travel Time from Bergamo Airport: approximately 40 minutes

Car rental desks are available directly at the airport, though we recommend booking in advance.

Renting a car during your stay offers the flexibility to explore the lake, nearby villages, and surrounding vineyards at your own pace.

Parking around Lake Iseo is generally much easier than in larger Italian cities.

Private Transfer (Recommended)

Travel Time from Bergamo Airport: approximately 40 minutes

Estimated Cost: €200–€220 one way (depending on number of guests and luggage)

Private transfers can be arranged in advance for a seamless arrival experience. This is the most comfortable and stress-free way to reach Lake Iseo.

Public Transportation (Possible, but Less Convenient)

For guests who prefer public transportation, the journey requires multiple connections.

Example route from Bergamo Airport:

Bus from the airport to Bergamo city center

Bus from Bergamo Terminal SAB to Sarnico

Taxi or a 10–15 minute walk to your accommodation
Estimated Travel Time: 1 hour 45 minutes – 2 hours

While this option is more economical, it may be less convenient, especially when traveling with luggage.

Flights

The most convenient airports for reaching Lake Iseo are located in Milan and Bergamo.

Closest & Most Recommended Airport

✈️ Milan Bergamo Airport (Orio al Serio – BGY)

Approximately 35–45 minutes by car from the lake.

This airport offers numerous European and international connections and is the most practical option for reaching the wedding location.

Alternative Airports

✈️ Milan Malpensa Airport (MXP) – approx. 1 hour 30 minutes by car

✈️ Milan Linate Airport (LIN) – approx. 1 hour 15 minutes by car

All Milan airports are well connected internationally.

Lake Iseo is one of Italy’s most peaceful lakes, making it ideal for slowing down and soaking in the scenery. Spend a quiet morning along the waterfront, swim in designated lake areas, or rent a small boat to explore hidden corners of the shoreline.

Perfect for: slow mornings, swimming, and unwinding by the water.

Sunset Aperitivo by the Water
