HOW WE MET
We met at work and instantly became best friends. We connected effortlessly over our shared love for the outdoors and staying active. Our weeks quickly filled with biking to work from Royal Oak to Detroit, early morning waterskiing on Cedar Island Lake, running 5Ks along the riverfront, training for half-marathons and triathlons, snowshoeing in the winter, and paddle boarding the Belle Isle channels in the summer.
Somewhere between the miles, the early mornings, and all the adventures, our friendship naturally grew into something more. What started as two best friends finding joy in the same things turned into a partnership neither of us saw coming.
THE FIRST DATE
Pinpointing an official “first date” is tough for us, but Thanksgiving 2019 stands out as the moment everything shifted. We traveled to Colorado to visit Michelle’s sister and now brother-in-law,and it felt like the perfect place for our story to begin. Our shared love for the mountains, snow, and snowboarding made the trip feel effortless, like we’d been adventuring together forever.
Colorado has always held a special place in both of our hearts. Brent grew up visiting with friends and family and has countless memories of spending time with his brother, Ryan, when he worked at Vail Resorts. Michelle lived in Colorado for almost eight years, and it will always be her second home.
THE PROPOSAL
Our life together has truly taken shape in our home in Beverly Hills with our sweet pup, Telli. Most weekends you can find us adventuring with both Telli and our family dog, Oakley. Their absolute favorite place to explore is Cranbrook House and Gardens. Every summer weekend, without fail, the four of us can be found wandering the paths, a place that also holds meaning as one of the spots we used to meet for runs when we first met.
On July 19th, 2025, Brent turned an ordinary summer walk into a moment we’ll never forget. He packed a picnic, dressed the dogs with engraved tags and asked the question in one of our favorite places. It was simple, personal, and absolutely perfect surrounded by the memories and the pups that helped build our life together.
