TRAVEL DETAILS

AIR TRAVEL TO SAN DIEGO

SAN DIEGO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

San Diego International is the best airport to arrive into. Our event venue is located two hours south of the airport across an international border -- remember to pack your passport! If you plan to attend our Welcome Cocktail Reception Friday evening, plan a flight that arrives no later than 2pm.

GROUND/SEA TRAVEL FROM SAN DIEGO TO VALLE DE GUADALUPE

Drive Yourself / Carpool

If you are local to Southern California or plan to rent a car in San Diego (make sure that you are able to bring it into Mexico - only a few rental car providers allow this), driving to Valle is a viable option -- especially if you are able to speak a little Spanish.

Make sure to purchase Mexican car insurance. We recommend taking the quota (toll road) from Tijuana to La Mision, then heading inland to Valle.

Taxi

There are multiple services offering taxi service from San Diego Airport (more expensive) or San Diego/Tijuana Border (more affordable) to Valle de Guadalupe. We will reach out to confirmed attendees with more information about this option as we get closer to the event.

Ferry

A new ferry from San Diego to Ensenada is planned to begin operations in June of 2023. If this route is operational by August, it is our recommended travel option for anyone not driving themselves. From Ensenada, our venue and local airbnb options are an easy Uber or taxi ride away. We will reach out to confirmed attendees with more information about this option as we get closer to the event.

LOCAL TRANSPORTATION

Local Taxi Service

Uber/Didi (another rideshare company) are dependable from Tijuana or Ensenada to Valle de Guadalupe, but not for travel within the Valle itself due to a lack of available drivers. For local travel if you do not have your own car and plan to stay more than a 10 minute drive from our venue, the best option is to pre-schedule taxi service from a local company. We will reach out to confirmed attendees with more information about this option as we get closer to the event.

Local Shuttle

We will have an 8 passenger van hired for the weekend that will be available for local (within a few miles of our venue) guest pick-up and drop-off Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. If you are staying in a AirBnB or hotel within 10 minutes of our venue, we should be able to coordinate rides for you and your group. We will reach out to confirmed attendees with more information about this option as we get closer to the event.

ACCOMODATIONS

ON-PROPERTY LODGING

LIMITED (SHARED) SPACE AVAILABLE

We have limited space available at our event venue in 4-person rooms that each have two queen beds. After we have RSVPs, we will reach out to share whether we are able to accomodate you in this option. If you prefer a private room, please book a local AirBnB or hotel. We also have ample space available for car/tent camping (with indoor bathroom access) if you are open to a more rustic option.

LOCAL CABIN/AIRBNBs

WALKABLE

There are a number of walkable cabins and AirBnB's available in our neighborhood. For those not staying on the venue property, we recommend this option so you are able to easily transition back and forth to events throughout the weekend. A few options are linked below, or you can use the venue location to find nearby AirBnBs.

LOCAL HOTELS

DRIVABLE

For any guests who want standard hotel lodging, there are a number of lovely hotels within a short driving distance from our venue location. Below are a few options, or you can search on your own (remember to reference our venue location to understand drive time). If you are travelling without your own car, we can connect you with local taxi services (more information regarding taxi services forthcoming to confirmed attendees).

MORE HELPFUL INFO...

WILL THE EVENTS BE INSIDE OR OUTSIDE?

All events will be outdoors. August weather in Valle de Guadalupe is hot/warm during the day and warm through the evening -- breathable, lighter daytime clothes are recommended with a light jacket for evenings.

WILL THERE BE SHUTTLE/TAXI SERVICE AVAILABLE?

Within Valle de Guadalupe, Uber is available but not dependable. Taxis can be pre-arranged if you are staying far from the event, and we will have have a shuttle hired for the day of our wedding for scheduled pickups and drop-offs at local hotels and airbnbs. Our recommendation is to book an airbnb within walking distance to the venue (see accommodations page for details).

ARE CHILDREN ALLOWED AT THE WEDDING CEREMONY?

We love your kids, but unfortunately cannot accommodate them at our wedding ceremony or reception. If you’d like to make the trip into a family vacation, then we’d be happy to help you find a sitter during these events! Please allow our wedding to be an excuse for date night.

CAN I TAKE PICTURES DURING THE CEREMONY?

We ask that you please turn off your cellphones & cameras during the ceremony. Don't worry, we have hired a photographer and will have a lot of photos to share with you after the wedding.

WILL THERE BE GLUTEN FREE/DAIRY FREE/VEGETARIAN OPTIONS?

Yes! The chef will be preparing a variety of options to meet everyone's dietary needs. Please note dietary restrictions when you RSVP and our chef will make you a delicious alternative meal that suits your requirements.

IS MEXICO SAFE TO TRAVEL TO?

We are in Baja California regularly and would never ask our friends and family to travel somewhere that we don't think is safe. As with any foreign country, it is important to exercise good judgement while abroad in Mexico and we only recommend driving on your own if you have some conversational Spanish fluency. Don't go looking for illegal activities, and you will avoid engaging with those who do.
