Frequently Asked Questions
What is the attire?
Festive formal wear is requested. Think fun, bright and colorful (but no pressure)!
For gentlemen this includes a jacket and tie or traditional suit. Please no jeans, sneakers, shorts or open toe shoes.
For women, formal dresses or gowns in either a tea or floor length.
Please reach out if you have any questions!
Is there a room block?
No! With so many hotels and Airbnbs to choose from, we want to give guests the opportunity to choose accommodations that they feel most comfortable with. We recommend staying in the downtown area of Charleston. This way you'll be walking distance to our Thursday and Friday events and to the bus pick up on Saturday. Please reach out for additional assistance if needed!
Will I be outside?
The ceremony and cocktail portion of the evening will be outdoors on grass (weather permitting). Dinner and dancing will be indoors (yay air conditioning!).
The welcome dinner will be indoors.
RVSP?
Please RVSP by August 1st, 2024. You can RSVP using the physical RSVP card sent with your invitation.
Will there be an after party on Saturday?
Yes! If you're up for it, we'll head out in Charleston after returning from Kiawah! Details to come.
Should I stay in Charleston or Kiawah?
We recommend staying in Charleston for the wedding weekend. We will be providing transportation from downtown Charleston to Kiawah and back on Saturday. You're welcome to stay in Kiawah, but you will have to organize your own transportation to the events located in Charleston and to The River Course on Saturday.
How far is The River Course from Charleston? Can I drive myself?
It is around 45 minutes, but trust us- it's worth it! You're welcome to drive yourself to The River Course and there is plenty of parking.
Do I need to stay downtown in Charleston?
No! It is only recommended for convenience. Hotels in the downtown area can be pricey and there are many affordable options a short Uber or Lyft ride away. Totally up to you!
Golf?
Please reach out to us if you're interested in playing golf while in town and we can help you get organized! You can also book tee times at any of the public courses listed in the "things to do" section below.
