How We Met

On November 6, 2021, just a few weeks after Jordan moved to the city from Schaumburg, her realtor, who had become a close friend in the process, invited her out with a group of friends. The original plan was to go to a club, but at the last minute she received a call from her guy to meet him at a different bar, where he and his friends were celebrating Joe’s brother’s birthday.

When they arrived, one of the guys from the group they arrived with began talking to Jordan. She wasn't interested, and Joe noticed. He pulled her friend aside and asked about Jordan, and her friend let him know she wasn't with anyone. Almost immediately, he came over, introduced himself, and they spent the rest of the night dancing and chatting away.

They stayed in touch after that night, and somewhere along the way discovered that Joe had grown up in Streamwood, right next to Schaumburg, where Jordan had grown up. His family's house was just ten minutes from hers. They had lived around the corner from each other growing up and never crossed paths until they both ended up in the same city, at the same bar, on the same night.

Their first date was November 12, 2021, and three months later Joe asked Jordan to be his girlfriend. They had been so close for so long without knowing it, and now they get to spend the rest of their lives making up for lost time.

The Proposal

What began as a staycation with plans to vacation at the London House in Chicago, with a spa treatment, dinner, and couples photos, turned into something truly special that Jordan could not have anticipated. Over the coming weeks before the proposal, Joe subtly told Jordan to pick out a few nice outfits for a weekend getaway at home and for a fun professional photoshoot to celebrate another year as a couple. In anticipation of a fun weekend, Joe convinced Jordan, without her realizing his plan, to get her hair and nails done just in time for the big day.

It was after months of planning, with the help of her sister Auvriel and his family working behind the scenes, that he arranged for family and friends to drive in from out of town to witness the incredible moment: when he would ask her to marry him.

On the big day, which was staged as a professional photoshoot outside, Jordan decided to wear a beautiful white dress with roses and heels that matched perfectly. Upon heading to the venue, Joe informed Jordan that they would first meet her sister Auvriel to "exchange some belongings" she had left at their house after hanging out together. Meanwhile, Jordan had no idea that everyone she loved, from parents to grandparents, and siblings to close friends, would be waiting as a surprise just around the building corner by the river for her arrival.

After ensuring everything was set up perfectly, Joe took Jordan's hand and guided her to where the photographer was waiting. It was then that Jordan started noticing people she knew were also there, waiting for her. As Jordan walked further down the riverfront, every person she greeted gave her a hug and handed her a beautiful red rose to form a full bouquet. At the end of the walkway, Joe waited patiently as Jordan happily cried from greeting the people she loved, only to realize what the moment was leading up to. It was then, on April 27th, 2025, on a beautiful sunny Sunday morning, that in front of all of their family and friends, Joe bent down on one knee and asked Jordan, the love of his life, for her hand in marriage. And the rest is history.
