OCTOBER 17, 2025

Departure: 9:00 sharp from The JW Marriott

Expected Return: 1:00

Check-in: Please arrive by 8:45

Meeting Point: JW Marriott: Andrés Bello 29, Polanco, Polanco IV Secc, Miguel Hidalgo, 11560 Ciudad de México, CDMX, Mexico

Step back in time with us on a private journey through the heart of ancient Mesoamerica. Our tour winds through the legendary Avenue of the Dead, the grand processional route that once echoed with footsteps of priests, rulers, and everyday citizens of Teotihuacan — a powerful city that thrived long before the Aztecs arrived. You’ll marvel at the Pyramid of the Moon and stand before the awe-inspiring Pyramid of the Sun, one of the largest structures of its kind in the Western Hemisphere, believed to have been constructed around 200 CE.

Though climbing the pyramids is no longer allowed, out of deep respect for their sacred significance and to preserve their integrity, walking these storied paths offers its own kind of wonder. It’s a chance to connect with a civilization that left behind a legacy of mystery, innovation, and reverence for the cosmos — an experience you won’t soon forget.

Please be prompt — the bus will depart at 9:00 sharp, and we wouldn’t want to leave without you!

TRAVEL

Mexico City/Code: MEX
Mexico City International Airport Benito Juárez

For those joining us in Mexico City, we recommend booking your flights with Delta, Air France, or AeroMexico, which all arrive at Terminal 2 of Mexico City's Benito Juárez International Airport (MEX). Terminal 2 offers a wide range of amenities for a comfortable arrival.

American Airlines is another great option, flying into Terminal 1. While this terminal has fewer amenities, it’s still a solid choice for travel.

As a reminder, you will clear customs when you land. And, don't forget your passport.

GETTING AROUND

Rideshare Recommended

Uber is widely available in Mexico City and is the preferred transportation option.

DiDi is a local rideshare that is much cheaper than Uber and is equally safe.

Please download the app of your choice before landing.

Please note that if you book at one of our preferred hotels, a shuttle service will be provided to and from activities.

HEALTH & SAFETY

Your safety is our top priority, and we want you to feel comfortable and confident while celebrating with us in Mexico City. Like any major city—whether it’s New York, Paris, or London—Mexico City is vibrant, lively, and welcoming, but it’s important to remain vigilant and aware of your surroundings, especially when it comes to personal belongings.

Rest assured, the areas where you'll be spending time for the wedding are incredibly safe. Popular neighborhoods like Polanco, Roma, and Condesa have seen an increase in safety measures, and recent statistics show that these areas are considered very secure for both locals and tourists. Many visitors enjoy exploring the city with no issues as long as they follow general precautions, such as sticking to well-lit areas and being mindful of your belongings in crowded spaces.

For added peace of mind, we've researched local medical care in case of any emergencies. Hospital Ángeles, located in the Polanco area, is a highly regarded private hospital known for its quality care and English-speaking staff. Should you need any assistance, it's a reliable option for top-notch medical services.

We are confident you will have a wonderful and safe experience in Mexico City, and we’re always here to answer any concerns you may have!

WHAT TO PACK

We’re so excited to welcome you to Mexico City for our special day! To help you prepare for your trip, here’s a guide on what to pack:

US Power Adapter
Guests traveling from Europe will need a US power adapter to charge phones and other devices. Don’t forget to bring one so you can stay connected and capture all the memories!

Comfortable Walking Shoes
Mexico City is a walking-friendly destination with charming streets and plenty to explore. Pack a pair of comfortable shoes to enjoy all the sights.

Layers for October Weather
October in Mexico City brings pleasant days and cooler evenings, with temperatures ranging from the mid-50s to mid-70s °F (10–24°C). Bring layers, such as light jackets or cardigans, to stay cozy as the day changes.

Casual and Formal Attire
You’ll want casual outfits for sightseeing and exploring the city, but don’t forget to pack something formal for the wedding day and other celebrations. Get ready to dress up and celebrate in style!

Sunglasses
With sunny skies likely during the day, a good pair of sunglasses will be your best friend.

Plan for Altitude
Mexico City sits at an altitude of over 7,000 feet (2,100 meters). Some people may experience mild altitude effects, like fatigue or dehydration. Stay hydrated, and if possible, take it easy your first day.

With these essentials, you’ll be ready to make the most of your trip to Mexico City and celebrate with us in comfort and style!

WATER CONSUMPTION & GUIDANCE

Your health and comfort are our top priorities, so here are some helpful tips regarding water consumption during your stay in Mexico City:

Drink Bottled Water
We recommend sticking to bottled water for drinking throughout your visit, as tap water in Mexico City isn’t always safe for consumption. Bottled water is widely available, and most hotels and restaurants offer it as well.

Mind the Ice
Many beverages are served with ice made from unfiltered water. To avoid any issues, kindly request your drinks without ice by saying "sin hielo" (pronounced sin yellow).

Fine Dining & Luxury Hotels
In our experience, fine dining establishments and luxury hotels consistently use filtered water for drinking and ice. We’ve never encountered any issues at these locations. If you’re unsure, don’t hesitate to ask the staff if they use filtered water—they’re always happy to clarify.

General Reminder
Stay hydrated, especially given Mexico City's altitude, but be mindful of where your water is sourced. When in doubt, choose bottled water and ask questions to ensure your comfort.

We want you to feel safe and enjoy every moment of your trip! Let us know if you have any questions or need additional guidance.

Note: The water and ice for the wedding are filtered and safe to drink. No bottles are needed.

CURRENCY

When visiting Mexico City, having a mix of payment options will ensure a seamless and enjoyable experience. Here’s what you need to know:

Credit Cards Are Widely Accepted
Most restaurants, hotels, and shops in Mexico City accept major credit cards, including American Express, Visa, and Mastercard. However, smaller local businesses and markets may only accept cash.

Bring Mexican Pesos
We encourage you to carry some Mexican pesos (MXN) for local shops, street vendors, and gratuities. While tipping isn’t mandatory, it’s greatly appreciated, especially in restaurants, for hotel staff, and for tour guides.

Currency Exchange & ATMs
Mexican pesos can be easily obtained at ATMs or currency exchange centers upon arrival. To avoid high fees, consider using an ATM associated with your bank or an international banking network.

Cash Tips
For convenience, keep small bills and coins handy for tipping. A tip of 10-15% is typical at restaurants, and 20-50 pesos is common for hotel staff or drivers.

Having pesos on hand will help you enjoy the city’s vibrant markets and street scenes while showing gratitude to the wonderful people who make your visit memorable!

EMBRACING CULTURAL DIFFERENCES

Mexico City is a vibrant hub of culture, history, and tradition, and one of the things we’ve come to love most about it is its unique charm. As you prepare to join us here, we wanted to share a few cultural differences between Mexico, the U.S., and France to help you enjoy your visit to the fullest.

Pace of Life
In Mexico, the pace of life can feel more relaxed and leisurely compared to the U.S. or France. Meals, especially dinners, are often enjoyed slowly, with an emphasis on connection and conversation. Service in restaurants may take longer than what you're used to, but this is part of the culture’s focus on savoring the moment.

Our Tip: Embrace the slower pace, be patient, and enjoy the experience. It’s all part of the charm!

Warm Hospitality
Mexican culture is known for its warm, welcoming, and polite nature. People often greet one another with a smile, and saying “please” (por favor) and “thank you” (gracias) goes a long way.

Our Tip: Take the time to greet people warmly and appreciate their kindness. You'll quickly see why we’ve fallen in love with this aspect of the culture!

Time Perception
In Mexico, time can be a bit more flexible. Things may not always run exactly on schedule, but that’s part of the laid-back culture that prioritizes people and relationships over strict punctuality.

Our Tip: Be adaptable and approach any delays or changes with a sense of humor and openness.

Dining Customs
In contrast to the U.S., where meals can be quick and functional, and France, where meals are celebrated events, dining in Mexico often falls somewhere in between. Expect to enjoy fresh, flavorful dishes that reflect the country’s rich culinary traditions, often shared with family and friends.

Our Tip: Don’t rush—soak in the flavors, the company, and the moment.

Tipping Etiquette
Tipping is customary in Mexico, similar to the U.S., but not always expected as it might be in France. A tip of 10-15% is standard in restaurants, and small tips for hotel staff or taxi drivers are appreciated.

Our Tip: Keep some pesos handy for tipping and show gratitude for great service.

Local Culture and Language
While many people in Mexico City speak English, especially in tourist areas, knowing a few basic Spanish phrases can be incredibly helpful and respectful. Don’t be afraid to try—you’ll likely receive a warm smile for your efforts!

Our Tip: Be respectful and curious about the local culture. Saying “thank you” in Spanish (gracias) or even attempting “hello” (hola) can create a meaningful connection.

We’ve fallen in love with the warmth, joy, and vibrancy of Mexico City’s culture, and we hope you will too. Take time to immerse yourself in its unique rhythms, enjoy the little differences, and embrace this incredible place that we’re so excited to share with you.
