Neutral: black, shades of grey, navy, or other earthy colours.

Your style will help create a cohesive atmosphere for our wedding celebration, photos, and videos but no stress if you already have your outfit.

THE VENUE

THE POLYGON GALLERY

COME FOR THE COFFEE, STAY TO CELEBRATE

We would come early for a coffee and pastry at Nemesis Coffee Polygon, but there's no need to plan a visit to see gallery exhibits ahead of time; we will have The Polygon Gallery's current exhibit open exclusively after-hours for our guests. It doesn't get much better than this.

The Polygon Gallery continues the forty-year reputation of Presentation House Gallery in engaging the public with the most visionary artists of our time. A new waterfront landmark on Vancouver's North Shore, The Polygon offers a one-of-a-kind space to encounter contemporary visual art with a focus on photography.

Situated on the unceded territories of the sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish) and səl̓ílwətaʔɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations, and the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) Band.

DESIGNED BY LOCAL ARCHITECTS

The Polygon Gallery is a place for art and an incubator for new ideas. Award‐winning firm Patkau Architects envisioned the design as a response to the history and character of both the gallery and its new location at the Shipyards on Lower Lonsdale: “It is an historically resonant site — home to the port industries on which North Vancouver was built, where the mountains meet the sea.”

The Polygon Gallery’s distinctive architecture is prominent along the North Vancouver harbourfront, appearing as a singular, cohesive form. It’s reflective cladding, animated by the changing light of day, echoes the nature of the surrounding landscape. The main floor’s glass exterior invites the public to not only look inside but to see through the gallery. Conversely, the upper floor maintains an enclosed gallery space.

The Polygon has won the following prestigious architecture awards for it’s design and impact on the community:
2022 Mies Crown Hall Americas Prize Outstanding Project
2021 RIBA International Award for Excellence (Royal Institute of British Architects)
2021 AIA Architecture Award
2020 Governor General’s Medal in Architecture
2019 Lieutenant Governor of British Columbia Medal in Architecture

ACCOMODATIONS

ACCOMODATIONS

In a twist of bad luck after we had secured our date and venue, a large Alcoholics Anonymous convention was planned for Vancouver July 3-6, 2025 . Every major hotel in the city is almost fully blocked to support it, therefore you will notice very limited availability. Although from what some have shared, there could be space released for booking between February to April 2025.

We have been able to secure fixed rates on a limited block of hotel rooms at the North Vancouver Inn and the Delta Hotels Burnaby Conference Center and will continue to try and secure additional blocks into the new year. Or you can choose to make your own accommodation arrangements at other hotels or through sites such as Airbnb and Vrbo.

THINGS TO DO

RESTAURANTS

AnnaLena

Chloe and Justin's favourite restaurant in Vancouver. They offer complex tasting menus course after course. AnnaLena has been recognized with a Michelin star, listed on Canada's 100 Best restaurants, and listed as part of the world's 50 Best Discovery. Reservations required.

Miku

Exceptional service and fresh sashimi. An easy to find favourite on the Vancouver waterfront with plenty of seats.

Danbo Ramen

Multiple locations across the city doesn't prevent standing in line. This is Justin's favourite and worth the wait.

HIKES

St. Mark's Summit

This intermediate 11km round-trip hike is where Chloe and Justin got engaged in 2024.

Grouse Grind Trail

A difficult trail due to quick elevation gain - 853 meters in 2.9km. Close to Vancouver, the views on a clear day can't be beat. This was Chloe and Justin's first hike together.

ACTIVITIES

Stanley Park

Rent a bike on Denman and bike the seawall around Stanley Park. On a road bike? Take a second loop around Park Drive for an added challenge. Alternatively, you can drive into the park and walk all or sections of the seawall.

English Bay Beach

The most populated beach in Vancouver's downtown area. The Stanley Park Seawall, a popular running and biking route, runs along the east side of the beach and Stanley Park Brewing is close by.

Prince of Whales - Whale Watching Tours

Vancouver’s surrounding waters are home to Whales, Sea Lions, Otters, Harbor Seals, Bald Eagles, Dolphins, and other marine mammals. Embarking on an Orca whale watching tour provides a thrilling opportunity to witness the transient Killer Whales as they navigate the Pacific in their natural habitat.

THE FIRST DATE

Back in 2019, Justin was in his second year of med school, and Chloe was doing her MBA at Queen’s University. Both swiped right on Bumble—because, obviously. Neither was a fan of texting, so they skipped the small talk and met up right away at Stone City Ales in Kingston. Over pints of Ships in the Night oatmeal stout, they traded travel stories and talked about life for hours.

THE START

They knew they were more than just "canoe buddies" when they crushed a canoe race together while still pretending to be "just friends". But timing wasn’t on their side. Justin had another year and a half of undergrad and years of residency ahead, and Chloe was moving to Stockholm in December 2019. They said their goodbyes at the airport, thinking that was it. The rest of their story almost never happened.

Fast forward to March 2020. COVID-19 turns the world upside down, and Chloe unexpectedly moves back to Toronto. Conveniently, Justin was en route to Vancouver to finish his semester virtually but stopped in to see Chloe for a few days. Somewhere in that blur of time, they made it official—but neither remembers exactly when, so they settled on April 1st. An anniversary easy to remember for two people who easily forget.

THE PROPOSAL

After stints in Ottawa and St. John’s for Justin’s FM residency and EM fellowship, they moved to Vancouver’s West End, with their cat, Neko George. On their second weekend in the city, Justin, and their friend’s James and Jas, organized a “welcome to the West Coast” hike up St. Mark’s Summit. Halfway through some casual photos, Justin pulled out a ring, got down on one knee, and asked Chloe if she would spend the rest of her life with him. She said “yes, of course!”
