FAQ
Dress code?
The event will be formal attire/ black tie optional. For women, long dresses/ floor length dresses of any color. Bridesmaids will be in an olive green. For men, this means suit and tie. If you have a tux, you are more than welcome to wear it at this event but of course it's not required at all! We want everyone to feel their best!
Indoor or Outdoor?
The 30 minute ceremony will be fully outside. Ladies may want to bring a light jacket or shawl. Our wedding date is in the beginning of October. We are hoping for nice cool weather and sunshine for our ceremony! Cocktail hour will be both indoor and outdoor as the sun is beginning to set. Reception will be fully indoors.
Can I bring a guest?
We would love to celebrate with everyone but our venue does have a limit on the number of guests we are permitted to have. Your invite should indicate if you have a plus one or list the names of additional guests who are invited.
Are children allowed?
We love all of your children, but our wedding will be an adults only function. Bar will be open and we intend on partying!
Coming from out of state?
If you are flying in, there are a few options. The first major airports being John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) or Laguardia Airport (LGA) which are both just outside of Long Island. There is a smaller more convenient airport on Long Island called Long Island MacArthur Airport (ISP) that is only about 6 miles from our venue.
There is also Amtrak conveniently connecting DC and NYC. From NYC, you would take the Long Island Railroad (LIRR) from either Penn Station or Grand Central and hop on the Ronkonkoma Branch to arrive at either Central Islip station or Oakdale Station.
Stays and Transportation?
We will have transportation running to and from our hotel block!
Multiple shuttles will run before the ceremony, after the reception and after the after party.

The Venue
We are so excited to celebrate this special day with you at Bourne Mansion, a place where history and romance come together. Built at the turn of the 20th century by Frederick G. Bourne, president of the Singer Sewing Machine Company, this estate was once a grand summer retreat on the shores of the Great South Bay. With its sweeping lawns, stately Georgian architecture, and grand ballroom, the mansion has long been a symbol of timeless elegance.
Over the years, it has hosted glittering gatherings and countless stories, and today it has been beautifully restored. We can’t imagine a more perfect setting to begin this new chapter, surrounded by the beauty of the past and the love of the present—shared with all of you.

The Proposal
Skogafoss, Iceland, 10/14/2025
Joseph proposed to Courtney on a 10-day trip around Iceland's Ring Road. On day 3 of the trip, we had plans to visit Seljalandsfoss Waterfall, Gljufrafoss Waterfall and then finally Iceland's iconic Skogafoss Waterfall where Joseph proposed. We were soaked and wet from the previous waterfall, but luckily it was a sunny day with rainbows in the sky. It was the most beautiful day of the entire trip. After the proposal, our photographer took us to a "secret" waterfall where we were able to change clothes and take more photos. The emergency white dress came in handy!
