The Port Hope Edit

Curated places, thoughtful experiences, and beautifully spent days.

Welcome to Port Hope

Port Hope isn't the kind of place you rush through.

It's the kind of place where one coffee turns into a long lunch, where a quick stroll becomes an afternoon of wandering, and where some of the best discoveries happen when you weren't looking for them.

Known for its beautifully preserved heritage streets, creative community, independent businesses, and slower pace of life, Port Hope has a way of making you want to linger just a little longer.

The Port Hope Edit is our collection of favourite places, thoughtful experiences, and local recommendations—created to help you experience the town through a local lens.

Whether you're here for the day, the weekend, or somewhere in between, we hope you'll discover something unexpected.

FAQs

WHEN IS THE WEDDING RSVP DEADLINE?

We kindly ask you to RSVP by July 9th, 2023.

WILL THERE BE ANY OTHER EVENTS TO ATTEND DURING THE WEDDING WEEKEND?

We have planned for a fun-filled weekend for those near and far, so go ahead and check out our Events Page for more details on the happenings throughout the weekend!

HOW DO I GET TO THE WEDDING VENUE? WILL TRANSPORTATION BE PROVIDED?

Yes, we will have a complimentary shuttle bringing you to and from the venue at the Dodd Family Farm. The shuttle will make stops in Downtown Port Hope at The Waddell, The Carlyle and The Hampton Inn. We will share more details on the shuttle schedule closer to the date.

IS THERE PARKING AVAILABLE AT THE WEDDING VENUE?

We welcome and encourage all of our guests to use our complimentary shuttle service. For those driving, parking will be available on-site. Once you arrive at the farm, we will direct you to the designated parking area. Please note parking is limited.

DO YOU HAVE A DRESS CODE? WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

The dress code is summer formal, and we would love to see our family and friends dress up with us!

For the ladies, think mid-length, or floor-length dresses, long flowy skirts, or pantsuits in lovely prints, patterns and colours. The evening will take place outdoors in a grassy area, so please take this into account when choosing your footwear. Block heels, wedges and comfortable flats are ideal! For gentlemen, consider lightweight fabrics like linen or cotton suits. The weather may cool down as the night progresses - a wrap, shawl or light jacket is recommended.

For a visual cue, we have created a Pinterest board to help inspire and guide you on your outfit journey if you'd like!

WILL THE CEREMONY, COCKTAIL HOUR, AND RECEPTION TAKE PLACE INDOORS OR OUTDOORS?

The entire evening will take place under the stars or under the tent. We recommend bringing a shawl or light jacket for the evening as the weather can get a little cooler. We will have a fire to keep you toasty, and hitting the dance floor is always a great way to stay warm!

WHAT IS THE SCHEDULE OF EVENTS FOR YOUR WEDDING?

Our celebration ceremony will begin at 5:00 pm sharp. Please plan to be at the farm by 4:45pm to allow time to get settled in. Following the ceremony, we will have cocktails, dinner and lots of dancing!

I HAVE DIETARY RESTRICTIONS/ALLERGIES. WHAT'S THE BEST WAY TO LET YOU KNOW?

Please let us know if you have any allergies or restrictions so we can accommodate you. There will be a comment section when you RSVP where this can be noted.

HOW WILL YOU COMMUNICATE ANY UPDATED INFORMATION AND/OR CHANGES BEFORE THE WEDDING?

Any updates or important details will be communicated via email. Not to worry, you'll be the first to know!

CAN I BRING A PLUS ONE?

We have addressed all invites personally to each of our guests, which can also be found on your RSVP. Due to limited space, we are keeping our special weekend as an intimate invite-only event shared with our closest family and friends.

WHAT'S THE BEST WAY TO CONTACT YOU IF I HAVE ADDITIONAL QUESTIONS?

Please feel free to contact Colin or Natasha directly if you have ANY questions, just email, call or text!
