Travel Tips
Booking your flight to SKB: For the best fares to St. Kitts, we suggest booking your tickets about 2–3 months before departure. February is peak tourist season thanks to the beautiful weather, so keep this in mind as you make your travel plans.
Wear layers when arriving in and departing from St. Kitts: the SKB airport is not air-conditioned, and full flights can mean a longer wait in immigration and customs lines.
Pack liquids in a quart‑size bag: Security in St. Kitts closely follows standard carry‑on liquid rules, so place all carry‑on liquids, gels, and aerosols in a clear, quart‑size Ziploc bag to avoid having to discard them at screening.
Getting to St Kitts (SKB)
Direct Flights from Newark Liberty International Airport
United Airlines provides direct flights from EWR to Robert L. Bradshaw International Airport (SKB) every Saturday.
Direct Flights from John F. Kennedy International Airport
Delta and American Airlines provide direct flights from JFK to SKB every Saturday.
JetBlue provides direct flights to SKB on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays.
Connecting Flights
There are numerous connecting flight paths to get you to St. Kitts.
If at all possible, we encourage you to book a direct flight from EWR or JFK. Flights from EWR are frequently delayed, and when routing through Miami, the connection is often scheduled within about an hour of your EWR arrival, which can make the layover very tight.
Arrival at Robert L. Bradshaw International Airport (SKB)
After your flight, you will deboard the plane directly onto the tarmac and be escorted to the airport. You will need your Immigration and Customs ED to go through immigration. After successfully getting through immigration, you will be able to find your luggage and go through customs.
Getting to the Marriott
Outside the airport there will be numerous taxis available.
You can pay in US cash.

Beach semi-formal outfits, light tropical clothing, a rain jacket for short tropical showers, comfortable walking shoes, reef-safe sunscreen, a hat, sunglasses, swimwear, and a light sweater for breezy evenings.
How’s mobile/internet coverage?
It depends on your phone carrier. Most carriers will charge an additional fee for international service. However, some carriers do not provide coverage unless connected to the internet. It is recommended to download WhatsApp, especially if you plan on using Taxi services. Islanders communicate solely via the app. Most tourist attractions do have WiFi available.
Are credit cards widely accepted?
With the exception of Discover and AMEX, all major cards are accepted in hotels, restaurants, and larger shops; carry cash for markets and taxis.
What currency is used?
Eastern Caribbean Dollar (XCD): Local prices are often quoted in XCD. The US dollar is widely accepted in tourist areas (exchange rate ~1 USD = 2.70 XCD). Always ask whether the price you are told is in XCD or USD.
What passport validity is required?
Yes, passport should be valid for at least 6 months from the date of entry.
Is there a tourist/arrival card or registration?
All visitors to St Kitts and Nevis need an Electronic Travel Authorisation (eTA). An eTA is a digital permission to travel – it is not a visa or a tax and does not permit entry into St Kitts and Nevis – it authorises a person to travel to St Kitts and Nevis. The cost is $17 per travelor.
Do children or infants also require an eTA?
Yes, all foreign visitors must apply for an eTA. For children under the age of 18, the legal guardian, parent or accompanying adult is responsible for filling in the application. We highly recommend that families apply as a group.
