Our Journey Together
Every great love story starts somewhere, and ours just happened to begin with chopsticks and a steaming bowl of ramen.

Back then, Chris was a nursing student buried in textbooks and clinicals, while Rachel was curious (and maybe a little nervous) about how to start her own nursing journey. One of Rachel’s best friends, who went to church with Chris, encouraged her: “You should reach out to Chris. He’s super nice and would totally help you out!”
Simple enough, right?
Well, not exactly.
Rachel wasn’t the best texter (she still isn’t, haha), and the thought of bothering someone she didn’t even know made her hesitate. Weeks went by until one fateful day, when Chris slid into her DMs. He had seen her Instagram story about lunch at his favorite Japanese ramen spot and couldn’t resist sending a message.
That little message changed everything.
Rachel finally took her chance. She asked for nursing advice and offered to buy Chris lunch, thinking that food could break down all barriers and awkwardness. Funny enough, she can’t remember any of the nursing talk, but what she does remember are Chris’ warm gestures—like folding her a cute chopstick stand with the disposable chopstick paper wrapper—and most importantly, his attentive listening during the deep conversation that followed. The rest of their lunch, was filled with laughter, shared testimonies, and profound talks about life, faith, and everything in between.
By the time our conversation ended, we both knew this was something different and something special. What was meant to be a quick study chat turned into the beginning of our forever.
