OUR STORY
Some love stories unfold in an instant; ours unfolded over the years. It all began in 2015, at our very first campus job as ushers at the University of Missouri Stadium. Amid the sea of black and gold, we met. Driesen made the first move (kind of) by casually inviting Cathy to join him at the Rollins dining hall. But nothing came of it... at least, not right away.
As fate would have it, we spent the next few years orbiting one another, never quite crossing paths again. Still, we never forgot that moment. Cathy has since admitted she would sometimes scan the campus, hoping to spot “the guy with the high-top and visor,” not knowing that look had long been retired. We shared mutual friends, walked the same sidewalks, studied in the same spaces… yet somehow, we kept missing each other. But while time created distance, it also allowed us to grow. Driesen was throwing himself into rigorous health science classes and TA positions in preparation for chiropractic school, and Cathy was balancing a full course load in biology along with leadership roles to pave her way to Dental School. (Let’s not forget also crossing Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.)
Then came the turning point, a small, seemingly ordinary conversation between Cathy and one of Driesen’s future groomsmen, Jacob. That simple moment set off a chain of events that led to a fateful birthday party in 2018, where they were brought together once again. Only this time, we didn’t let go.
Since then, we have built a relationship grounded in love, faith, and shared purpose. Despite the miles between us, and there were many, our bond only deepened. Planes, trains, buses, and long drives became routine, but no amount of distance could weaken what we were building. Now, after seven years, we're finally saying goodbye to long-distance and stepping into the next chapter, together.
This wedding is not just a celebration of a day, it’s a celebration of every prayer, every mile, every “goodnight” spoken across time zones. It’s the start of a forever we’ve already been building. We are so honored to share this moment with all of you. Your presence means the world to us. We can’t wait to celebrate the love that has waited and grown with all of you beside us.

FAQs
Are Children Invited?
While we absolutely adore your little ones, our wedding weekend events will take place in 21+ venues where monitoring underage guests would be difficult. For everyone's safety and comfort, we've decided to keep the celebration adults-only. We truly appreciate your understanding and can’t wait to celebrate with you!
What can I expect at the welcome party?
Attendance is completely optional, but we would love to kick off the weekend with you there! This is our way of saying thank you and spending extra time together before the big day.
The welcome party will take place on Friday, June 19, 2026, from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Dear Irving on Hudson, a beautiful rooftop lounge overlooking Manhattan.
We’ll be serving light hors d’oeuvres and offering an open bar. It’s a relaxed evening to mix, mingle, and toast to the weekend ahead.
Is there shuttle transportation to the ceremony?
Yes! Complimentary shuttle service will be provided for all guests to and from the ceremony at St. Patrick’s Cathedral. Shuttles will depart from outside The Evelyn Hotel, where our reception will be held.
Pick-up location: In front of The Evelyn Hotel
Departure time: The first shuttles begin boarding at 3:00 PM and depart promptly at 3:15 PM. The second shuttle begins boarding at 3:15 PM and departs at 3:30 PM to ensure guests arrive by the 4:00 PM ceremony start time.
Return shuttle: Shuttles will be waiting outside the church after the ceremony ends and will depart at 5:15 PM to return to The Evelyn for cocktail hour.
Note: You do not need to be staying at The Evelyn to use the shuttle service—it’s open to all our wedding guests! Please see the parking FAQs for more information.
Where should we park?
There is no parking available at the church, so we recommend parking near The Evelyn Hotel and using the provided shuttle service. Here are a few parking garages nearby:
iPark – 10 E 30th St
Icon Parking – 30 E 29th St
GGMC Parking – 13 E 33rd St
Quik Park – 12 E 31st St
From there, you can catch the shuttle to the ceremony and back for the reception.
What is the wedding ceremony like?
Our ceremony will take place at St. Patrick’s Cathedral beginning at 4:00 PM, and will be a full Catholic Mass with special touches to honor both of our faith backgrounds: Catherine’s Catholic and Driesen’s Protestant traditions.
Following the ceremony, we’ll have a short send-off moment outside the church before returning to the Evelyn for the Cocktail hour!
What’s the timeline for the wedding day?
3:00 PM: Shuttles begin boarding at The Evelyn with two shuttle times
4:00 PM: Ceremony begins at St. Patrick’s Cathedral
5:15 PM: Shuttles depart back to The Evelyn
6:00 PM: Cocktail hour begins at Brass
7:00 PM: Dinner and dancing
11:00 PM: Celebration ends (but the memories last forever!)

THE EVELYN
Our main event hotel, located in NoMad, is The Evelyn. It offers stylish rooms and serves as the hub for our shuttle, cocktail hour, and reception, centrally located and full of charm. The groom and his groomsmen will be getting ready here the morning of the wedding. A room block is available for this location!
