LA PESCAIA RESORT
La Pescaia is situated on the western side of Italy - approximately 80 miles from Florence, 190 miles from Rome, and 40 miles from Siena. Nestled in the heart of the Tuscan Maremma - on the ancient road between Siena and Rome, La Pescaia Resort is a piece of authentic rural patrician history brought back to life.

The resort sleeps ~50 guests across 18 rooms & has been reserved exclusively for our use during the wedding 'week.'
While our goal is to accommodate all our guests at the resort, we do anticipate there will be a need for some guests to stay at a nearby villa or two (approximately 5 minutes away).

As RSVPs are received, we will begin planning rooming assignments in order to maximize the available bedrooms and will discuss with each guest to review and confirm options.

PRICING: You can anticipate paying approximately 200 Euro per person per night (inclusive of VAT), which includes breakfast each morning. The property has an onsite restaurant for meals outside of breakfast and the wedding events.

LENGTH OF STAY: There is a required three-night minimum stay beginning on Monday, the 14th of June with departures on Thursday, the 17th of June.

HOW TO BOOK: Room assignments will be finalized once RSVPs are received in September. La Pescaia will reach out to each group of guests to finalize payment and additional details in March 2027 (approximately 90 days prior to the wedding). Please note - you cannot book directly with the venue.
TENUTA DI MARO (tentative)
Tenuta di Maro has a similar feel to La Pescaia Resort as a historic farmhouse and stables. This villa offers (5) rooms and (4) apartments - located approximately (5) minutes from La Pescaia Resort.

Will there be transportation to the venue for those not staying at La Pescaia?
Yes! For anyone that may be staying nearby, we will have transportation for you.
Otherwise, it's not needed.
What is the dress code?
Welcome Dinner: Linens, florals, something comfy and easy - this is a casual way for us to socialize before the big day!

Wedding: We ask that guests dress in cocktail attire, with men in suits or a sport coat and slacks. No black tie necessary but keep it classy! Ladies in heels take heed - you will be on grass for portions of the evening. (Will I be wearing heels ...Yes! xx -Barbara)

Are babies / kids welcome?
Yes! It does make some logistics and accommodations more complicated so let's chat if you plan to bring your little one(s). We are looking at childcare arrangements for the wedding ceremony and reception.

La Pescaia has up to (4) cribs for children under two years of age, and extra beds for a price of 50 euro for kids ages 2-6. The other villa options are also kid friendly if you're traveling with extended family.
What are the dining options?
La Pescaia has an onsite restaurant & bar and is open for a la carte dining for meals not provided by the host families.
This is not a typical hotel with all of the extra dining services so keep this in mind for late night snacking needs...
Is there a minimum length of stay?
Yes - there is a (3) night minimum length of stay and the dates are firm: arrivals for La Pescaia begin on Monday the 14th of June with departures on Thursday the 17th of June. This is because the villa is rented out to other guests and events pre/post our wedding - so the rooms are not available for early arrival or late checkout.

We suggest planning your travel to arrive in Italy the weekend prior to the wedding and make your way to Tuscany on Monday!
Plan for a firm departure on Thursday; however, if you are staying at a different villa, you may have additional flexibility with your dates of stay.
How will we secure our guestrooms?
Once RSVPs are finalized, we will begin working to assign guestrooms. Email communication for payment will come directly from the venue.
Can we travel with our extended family to make a longer vacation?
Yes - that is completely up to you! We hope that everyone takes the time to relax, unplug from work, and enjoy the few days together. If you do travel with additional family members and wish to stay with them during the wedding dates, we ask that you plan to stay at one of the nearby villas as space is limited - we will work with you to figure this all out!
What if something comes up and we are not able to travel?
Please let us know as soon as possible. Rooms at La Pescaia will be confirmed approximately 90 days out from the wedding date. If your room is confirmed there, we will do our best to move someone who may be staying off site to the venue; however, you may be responsible for a guestroom cancellation penalty.
Life comes first and it's important you take care of anything that comes up at home!
Are there any visa requirements for traveling?
U.S. citizens can visit Italy visa-free for up to 90 days, but from 2026, an ETIAS travel authorization is required.
Make sure to have two blank pages in your passport and that it is valid for at least (3) months beyond the date of entry.

our story
One very unassuming, hot, & humid early October day in 2022 - a bombshell entered the villa and Sam really couldn't give her the time of day.
Little did he know, she would break down his walls while texting about work and pop-up events one meme and photo of her dog at a time. It started in the most cliche but unexpected way - Barbara returned from her first work trip to New Orleans and said to her friend Stefanie that she maybe, just maybe, had a work crush (the horror)! For those who know Barbara, they know that this was absolutely, completely off the table - this was new territory. On the other hand, when Sam first met Barbara - he felt she was 'just another remote person' and moved on with his day with little hope of any impact she may have on their operation.
A few months later, after a lot of work-only communication, a boy approached a girl at the bar & offered her a bite of his pizza crust. Truly, the rest is history.
Sam began leaving Barbara coffee on her office desk, their texts and calls became more about life than work, and he rescued her (after his 12+ hour workday) from a late night post Mardi-Gras parade no transportation available nightmare.
From there, things moved quickly because, well - we are adults! Sam said yes to adopting F1 & gymnastics into his sports rotation, traveling to Japan & Vegas for races, getting that second golden retriever, and enthusiastically suggested exchanging Louisiana for California. Barbara provides an endless supply of chocolate chip cookies, acts as a recipe taste tester extraordinaire, sits in the middle seat on airplanes to give Sam the aisle (help me pls), and begrudgingly wears purple for him during football season. She is his constant cheerleader, audiobook and road trip partner. Life is full of joy, cooking shows, love island uk and completely covered in dog hair at all times. We wouldn't have it any other way.
