Think classic black-tie elegance with a relaxed Newport feel. For women, floor-length gowns or formal midi dresses in coastal colors and lightweight or flowing fabrics are encouraged. For men, tuxedos or tailored dark suits, paired with a tie or bow tie are appropriate.

The overall look should feel polished and formal, with a touch of seaside summer elegance.

TAKE A BOAT CRUISE

Experience Newport from the water with a harbor or sunset cruise. It's one of the best ways to take in the city's historic waterfront, impressive yachts, and picturesque coastline. We suggest Newport Classic Cruises for public, ticketed cruises. For smaller groups or a more intimate setting we suggest, On Watch Sailing, Newport Classic Yacht Co, and Newport Charter Group.

A charming waterfront district filled with local boutiques, restaurants, and bars. It's the perfect place to stroll, enjoy fresh seafood, shop, or grab a drink while taking in the harbor views.

SPEND TIME AT THE BEACH

Newport is known for its beautiful beaches. For a quieter escape, head to Gooseberry Beach, a local favorite with calm waters and a laid-back atmosphere. If you're looking for a livelier beach day, Easton's Beach (First Beach) is Newport's largest and most popular beach, ideal for swimming, sunbathing, or simply taking a stroll along the shore.

INTERNATIONAL TENNIS HALL OF FAME

Explore the birthplace of the U.S. National Lawn Tennis Championships and celebrate the history of the sport. The museum features interactive exhibits, historic memorabilia, and beautifully preserved grass courts in the heart of Newport.
