THE PROPOSAL
Throughout their relationship, Jake often heard Allison talk about visiting a place south of Atlanta she had gone to as a child with elementary school friends. This place is now known as Serenbe. Jake went down to Serenbe several times during the summer of 2019 and worked with management to plot out his proposal idea. He found a tree with a “nook” in it near a small waterfall...it was perfect! Jake planned a surprise weekend getaway for their anniversary and Allison thought she had figured it out - Nashville, TN. However, she was confused when they started going south on 75/85 instead of north. When they pulled off the highway at the Serenbe exit, Jake could see the excitement but knew she had no idea what was coming. They arrived, checked in, then Jake suggested they go for a walk on the nature trails (Jake had taken the ring down the week before and asked the manager to placed the ring in that nook prior to their arrival). Coming to the clearing and the rolling waterfall Jake was dying, trying to figure out how he could make Allison walk away from the beautiful landscape and turn towards the tree. When she finally did, he came up behind her and when she picked up the box and turned around, Jake was on his knee asking her to marry him.
