Dining Options

Le Café de Paris

A classic French brasserie situated in the heart of Casino Square. Open until midnight every day, the Café de Paris offers the best people (and car) watching in Monte Carlo.

Le Grill - Hôtel de Paris

Perched atop the Hotel de Paris, Le Grill offers panoramic views of Monte Carlo with Michelin starred food and service.

The American Bar - Hôtel de Paris

Located just inside the Hotel de Paris, the American Bar is an ideal stop for pre- or post-dinner drinks for a sample of old-school yet relaxed Monte Carlo glamour.

La Piazza

Our family favorite, La Piazza is a short walk from Le Méridien hotel and offers seasonal Italian cuisine with local south of France specialties.

Mozza

Next door Le Piazza, Mozza is a slightly buzzier Italian trattoria that is easily walkable from Le Méridien Hotel.

Cipriani - Monte Carlo

The Italian classic has a Monte Carlo outpost just below the most famous hairpin corner on the F1 Circuit. Dress to impress!

Song Qi

Located across from the Grimaldi Forum on Avenue Princesse Grace, Song Qi offers contemporary and fine Chinese food with plenty of outdoor seating.

Cantinetta Antinori

Opened by the Tuscan Antinori wine-making family, Cantinetta Antinori offers cappuccinos and croissants for breakfast and northern Italian specialties for lunch and dinner with live music each evening. Fair warning, the all-beef pasta carbonara may require a traditional South of France afternoon nap...

Maya Jah

Maya Jah offers a contemporary menu of Indian and Mediterranean flavors in an elegant space. A family favorite.

Rampoldi

A short walk from Casino Square, Rampoldi is a Monte Carlo classic known for its elevated Italian cuisine and glitterati clientele.

Maya Bay

Maya Bay offers excellent Thai and Japanese specialties in a buzzy scene situated exactly between the Monte Carlo Bay and Le Méridien Hotels.

A Michaelides / Rosenblatt / Schaller favorite.

Avenue 31

Avenue 31 is ideal for an easy lunch or dinner of Italian and South of France specialties and is a short walk from Le Méridien hotel.

Coya

Jutting out into the Mediterranean within the Sporting Club, Coya offers contemporary Peruvian cuisine with Japanese influences.

Cova - Palais de la Plage

Originally from Milan, Cova opened a small café and restaurant ideal for a morning cappuccino or afternoon lunch.

Le Larvotto - the Beach

Miami Plage

With a traditional "feu de bois" wood-burning pizza oven, Miami Plage is located directly on the Larvotto Beach. The restaurant has extensive shaded seating and is our favorite for fresh pizza, glasses of rosé and a cold watermelon for dessert.

La Note Bleue

Another option on the Larvotto, La Note Bleue offers a wide range of fresh options for lunch and dinner. Each evening, La Note Bleue offers live jazz music until midnight - an ideal pit stop for after dinner drinks on your walk home.

Marco

Marco specializes in Italian fish and seafood pasta dishes. Also located on the Larvotto, Marco is a great option for a leisurely lunch in the shade from the summer sun.

Late Night

Buddha Bar

With an in-house DJ and lounge atmosphere, Buddha Bar offers dinner and drinks until late into the night.

Sass Café

The ultimate for see-and-be-seen Monte Carlo, be sure to reserve a table outside no earlier than 10 pm for dinner and drinks late into the night.

Jimmy'z

The iconic nightclub has a rotating cast of DJs and live music throughout the summer season. Jimmy'z is open Friday and Saturday night and reservations are required.

Hotel Bars

Le Méridien and Monte Carlo Bay hotels both have excellent outdoor and semi-outdoor bars and lounges with views of the Mediterranean to catch-up with family or friends.

Day Time Activities

Le Larvotto

The primary public beach in Monte Carlo is free and open to the public. A redesign of the promenade was recently completed by the architect Renzo Piano and provides an ideal starting spot for a walk around Monte Carlo.

Casino Square

At the heart of Monte Carlo lies Casino Square, which includes the Monte Carlo Casino, Hotel de Paris and Café de Paris. The Monte Carlo Casino and neighboring buildings embody the architechtural style which is emblematic of Monaco and the neighboring Café de Paris provides an ideal location for a "citron pressé" or apertivo and people watching. Please note, that the Casino requires sport coats for men and proper attire for women.

The Monaco Harbor

Surrounded by steep cliffs on all sides, the Monaco Harbor is a naturally deep harbor that has been in-use since the 6th century BC. Today, a walk around the harbor provides a tour of yachts and mega-yachts that is always entertaining.

The Old City - Le Rocher

Monaco's walled old city, nicknamed Le Rocher, is perched on a hill and contains picturesque winding cobblestoned streets. Within the old city, one can explore the winding streets, colorful buildings, old churches, the Oceanarium and the Palace. The old city can be accessed via a walking path from the Monaco Harbor or by car.

The Oceanographic Institute

Also located on Le Rocher is the Oceanographic Institute, which contains extensive Mediterranean, Tropical, Reef and other aquariums and natural exhibits. An ideal daytime activity for kids tired of the beach!

Day Trips

San Remo

Monaco borders Italy and just across the border is the charming market town of San Remo. The town of San Remo is located on the sea and has an extensive open-air market on Tuesdays and Saturdays. For lunch, Ristorante Mare Blu is a family favorite but there are plenty of local and fresh options in the highly-walkable town.

A short drive outside San Remo is the Mall - San Remo, a brand new outdoor mall offering high-end discount outlets for brands such as YSL, Zegna, Loro Piano, Bottega Veneta, Balenciaga and Etro.

San Remo is reachable by car (45 min) or by train (approx. 1 hr 15 min via Ventimiglia) from Monaco.

Èze

Èze is a hilltop town with a medieval village known for its spectacular views of the Mediterranean and its beauty and old-world charm. Èze contains extensive art galleries and shopping as well as charming local restaurants. The perfume laboratory and factory for Fragonard is also located in Èze and is open for public tours. You can also grab a drink at the beautiful Chevre d'Or hotel overlooking the sea.

Èze can be reached from Monaco by train, bus or car.

Cap Ferrat

A short drive from Monaco, Cap Ferrat is a small peninsula extending into the Mediterranean. The small fishing village contains a number of public beaches, restaurant and buildings emblematic of the French Riviera.

For those seeking outdoor activity, one can explore the 6km walking path around the peninsula, which offers spectacular views of the Mediterranean and glimpses into luxurious private residences.

If you are travelling by car, please note it is best to arrive early as finding parking can be difficult.
